The steams friend list is bugged so turn ur self to offline and you will no longer freeze in the menus. Use these setting and the game should be running at no less then 50 fps ever! This seems to be that the cutscenes are playing at the same time the levels are loading; this in turn loads the CPU to 100%, causing the lag. Aparently they are working on a fix.
