If the location changes, then it is possibly more of a conflict between the driver and this display, or something to do with the physical connection to the board. It still would not hurt to make sure you have the latest HP driver installed.

If that pressure gets rid of the vertical line, you will have a bad Tape Carrier Package (TCP). There is really no fix to it other than replace the LCD.
